Meet Aaron
Drummer with the BoogieMoonBand
Well-known locally for teaching and performing all over the place, Aaron remembers the Foo Fighters and playing the London Jazz Festival.

How did it all start?
Well I first started learning the violin but I always thought drums were way cooler. So around the age of 12, I was copying some of the older guys at school who were into rockers like Dave Grohl [Foo Fighters]. And then my Dad bought me my first kit for Christmas and soundproofed a room. The neighbours were really good about it and never complained, but later told me they were glad when I got into jazz instead of rock!
What do you love about playing live?
Meeting people, seeing them having a great time, making them dance. Even if they’re sitting, you can see them there, eyes closed, the music means something to them.
Which of the band's songs are your favourites to play?
Chic, Sister Sledge, Nile Rodgers: those grooves never fail to drive up the energy. Young Hearts Run Free too - never fails.
And then recently we covered Tyla’s “Water” which is a great drum pattern to play.
